“ This wonderful story reminded me of exactly why I fell in love with RJ Scott's storytelling.” - Goodreads Reviewer
RJ Scott has been writing since age six when she was made to stay in at lunchtime for an infraction involving cookies and was told to write a story. Two sides of A4 about a trapped princess later, a lover of writing was born. She reads anything from thrillers to sci-fi to horror; however, her first real love will always be the world of romance. From billionaires, bodyguards and cowboys to SEALs, throwaways and veterinarians, she writes passionate stories with a heart of romance, a troubled road to reach happiness, and more than a hint of happily ever after.
I have read many book series, and RJ Scott's Sanctuary series is one of the finest (following MA Church's Harvest series, Rob Colton's Galactic Conspiracies series, and Alicia Nordwell's Saving Caeorleia series) and the Montana series, starting with Crooked Tree Ranch rates right up there with the best of them.
As is typical with RJ Scott's writing, the characters are very complex and very real. Readers won't realize this off the bat because their complexity is slowly revealed.
The plot is very realistic, leaving the readers with the feeling that they're watching the day-to-day happenings on Crooked Tree for real, and the settings are such that readers will want to go visit them. I know I would.
Ms. Scott has another bestseller on her hands. I'm very much looking forward to the second book in the Montana series, The Rancher's Son.
This book is a definite 5 on the 1-5 scale. Read it. You won't be disappointed.
